To reverse a payment, select the desired record by clicking on the radio button located on the left side of the appropriate Payment Reversal Selection List line. When a payment is selected, a new window is opened (see example below) that contains the following:
A form that is populated with the current information for the selected payment.
A drop down box to be used to assess NSF fees.
A function Bar that contains Save, Delete and Reset icons. The Delete icon is disabled.
The majority of the screen contents are read-only fields, and are used to convey information pertaining to the payment that is to be reversed. The exception is the drop-down selection box that is used to indicate if NSF fees should be applied when the payment is reversed. Select "Yes" to apply an NSF fee. The NSF fee that will be applied is the value accessible via the System Configuration Parameters Maintenance function.
Click on the Reset icon to restore the update form to its initial state. Any fields which were modified or updated by the user will be restored to their initial value, that is the value that was displayed when the update form was first opened.
To apply the payment reversal, click on the Save icon. Reversing entries will be written to the Chronological History and Ledger tables of the database, and the Payment Reversal window will be closed. The Payment Reversal Selection List will be refreshed to indicate that the selected payment has been reversed. The loan grid (accessed via Borrower Services) will also reflect the reversed payment amount.
To exit this process without applying the payment reversal, simply click on the Payment Reversal Selection List browser window at any time to close the pop-up Payment Reversal window.
