Note: An NSLDS record cannot be deleted if it is associated with an existing loan record. The loan must be deleted before the NSLDS record can be deleted.
To delete an NSLDS record, select the desired record by clicking on the magnifying glass icon located on the left side of the appropriate NSLDS Record List line. When this icon is clicked, a new window is opened (see example below) that contains the following:
A form that is populated with the current information for the selected NSLDS record
A function Bar that contains Save, Delete and Reset icons. The Delete icon will be enabled only if the user's security profile has been granted delete privileges.
To delete the displayed NSLDS record, click on the Delete icon. Clicking the Delete icon will trigger the display of a pop-up dialog box that requests the user to confirm the Delete action. For example:
An edit process is then triggered to ensure that there is not a loan in the system currently associated with the NSLDS record. If this edits fails, an error message will be displayed in a pop-up dialog box as shown in this example:
If the NSLDS data complies with the edit, the NSLDS record will be deleted, and the pop-up window will be closed. The NSLDS Record List will still reflect the NSLDS record however. This is because the NSLDS record is not removed until the archive process is run, thereby enabling the user to "undelete" the record by setting the archive flag to "No".
To exit this process without performing the delete action, simply click on the NSLDS Record List browser window at any time to close the pop-up window.
